Exciting changes are in the works for the area around the upcoming Steeles TTC station on the Yonge North Subway Extension. A recent proposal has made its way to city planners’ desks this October. This proposal envisions the transformation of a cluster of five single-family houses that stretch from 26 to 34 Nipigon Avenue, located just southeast of the intersection of Yonge and Steeles, and within a mere 250 meters of the future Steeles Station on the extended Line 1.
The application, submitted by DiamondCorp and Trove Developments, involves the demolition of the existing houses and aims to replace them with a striking 50-story condominium tower, skillfully designed by Kirkor Architects, on this 0.23-hectare site. This development promises to bring a whole new vibe to the neighborhood.
