1966 Eglinton East Condo is a new preconstruction condo project located at 1966 Eglinton Avenue East in Scarborough’s Golden Mile Community and developed by RioCan Living. This new development will become a new high-rise condo development in this area and near the intersection of Warden Avenue and Eglinton Avenue. The project consists of four buildings ranging from 12 to 48 stories with a major grocery store on the ground floor for commercial use.
The development will involve the replacement of a plaza at Warden and Eglinton. This project will replace a plaza with 12-story, 38-story, 40-story, and 48-story buildings, as well as retail space, a public park, and pedestrian-friendly streets. The majority of the density will be concentrated along the perimeter of the site towards the Eglinton frontage and two Crosstown LRT stations.
It will be located immediately next to the future Golden Mile Station of the highly anticipated Line 5 Eglinton Crosstown LRT. All TTC subway lines will be connected to the Eglinton Crosstown LRT efficiently and quickly, including the Yonge-University, Bloor Danforth, and Scarborough LRTs. Transit will transform this area from a predominantly industrial area into a lively, mixed-use neighborhood. Restaurants in the area serve authentic cuisine, cafes, bars, groceries, big-brand retail stores, and family entertainment such as LaserQuest, Cineplex Cinemas, and the Aga Khan Museum.
